As we wait for Arnold Schwarzenegger to make his official return to Hollywood in The Last Stand this Friday, Deadline is reporting that Skydance Productions has hired Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar, Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (My Bloody Valentine) to write the fifth installment in the Terminator series. Though there is no word yet on whether Schwarzenegger will again be involved in the franchise that propelled him to superstardom, the site is making it sound like the movie is coming out no matter what.

The movie will be produced by Megan Ellison, who bought the rights to the franchise a few years back, and her brother, David, who runs Skydance. At this point we're not sure if this will be a direct sequel to the last installment, Terminator Salvation, or something completely different. However, we do know that Megan Ellison has come out in the past and confirmed that the movie will be rated R, so at least there is that.
