When President Barack Obama was sworn in the first (second?) time in 2009, Twitter was still a nascent social network. Despite having just south of 20 million users, the service played a major roll in the election of former Senator from Chicago. It made sense that there were a little over 82,000 tweets sent during Obama's first inauguration. Four years later, however, things are vastly different.

Twitter boasts over 500 million users and is one competing for the most popular social network in the world. With that increase in users, an uptick in usage is to also be expected. It was no surprise, then, that there were over 1.1 million tweets sent during the 57th presidential inauguration ceremony. We're guessing Beyonce had a good deal to with that, but the number is still staggering. So just what was everyone tweeting about? Read on to find out.
