According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 20-year-old Frank Emmitt Nance was arrested for allegedly shooting a Atlanta police officer in the face on Friday evening. Officer Reggie Robinson, who just graduated from the police academy in November, arrived in the southwest Atlanta neighborhood to investigate drug activity when a man fled before opening fire.

The 35-year-old Robinson was taken to Grady Hospital where he's reportedly in stable condition. As for Nance, he's alive, but appears to be in a world of hurt. Atlanta Police are keeping quiet on the situation, declining to comment on how Nance received the injuries you see above. An internal investigation will be conducted to make sure police adhered to all policies and procedures.

Nance, who has a long history of criminal activity, was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and aggravated assault against a police officer.
