Any longtime Batman fan knows just how influential Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns has been on the character since its publication in 1986. The story of an aging Bruce Wayne coming out of retirement to take Gotham City back from a gang of vicious mutants and a jingoistic Superman is still one of the great stories to ever grace the comic book medium. And now, Warner Brothers is releasing the second part of an animated version of the story next Tuesday on DVD and Blu-ray.

In this latest clip from the film, we get our first look at The Joker, who is voiced by Lost’s Michael Emerson. Here, the Clown Prince of Crime threatens talk show host David Endochrine (voiced by Conan O’Brien) and everyone in the studio audience with a chilling calm to his voice. Just like the studio did with the first half of the movie, this one looks to pay perfect homage to Miller’s work.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns – Part 2 will hit stores on January 29.
