This has the potential to be awesome: According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar-winning screenwriter behind The Departed, William Monahan, is set to develop a crime drama for premium cable network Starz. The series, which will be a period piece set in 1960's Great Britain, and is described as a study of "criminal enterprises and scandal." The concept was originally going to be developed as a feature film, but Starz has reportedly given it a script commitment as a series.
"There’s very little more interesting to me than the '60s in Britain," Monahan said of the project. "Taken from Profumo to psychedelia, from the London criminal world to the worlds of art and fashion - all of which continually intersected. I know one thing: it’s very, very, funny." If anything, its an opportunity for a great soundtrack!
