According to authorities, a gunman entered Stevens Institute of Business and Arts in downtown St. Louis and shot a school administrator before turning the gun on himself. According to Police Chief Sam Dotson, the incident happened around 2 p.m. today, and the administrator was shot once in the chest inside of his office.

Dotson says that both the victim and the gunman are in surgery, and he is uncertain about the severity of their injuries. No one else was injured. The school has roughly 250 students enrolled in programs ranging from business administration to interior design. In the moments immediately following the shooting, students were found hiding in closets and under desks.
