Sony is still moving ahead with its movie adaptation of the cult-favorite Playstation 2 game Shadow of the Colossus, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The site is reporting that the studio has hired Hanna screenwriter, Seth Lochhead, to work on the script for the movie, which had an earlier draft written by Justin Marks. Director Josh Trank, who is still attached to the project, will oversee the writing of the script, even though he is currently involved in Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot.

For those unfamiliar with the game, Shadow of the Colossus focuses on a young hero, named Wanderer, who must travel across a vast land on horseback to defeat 16 mountainous giants, in order to restore life to a girl named Mono. It was a visual masterpiece back in 2005, and is still hailed by critics as one of the PS2’s greatest games.

We’ll have more information on Shadow of the Colossus as it becomes available.
