The last NYC murder of 2012 was a stabbing, and the year began with several shootings in the city. In the first few hours of 2013, seven people were shot in the city, though it appears all of them will survive. The first incident involved a 32-year-old man who was shot in the stomach in the Bronx around 2 a.m. At almost the exact same time, a 19-year-old man was shot in the back in Brooklyn.
By 4:30 a.m., a man was shot in the legs in Queens, and a bout 30 minutes later, a woman was shot in the arm in the Brox. Soon after, a man with a gunshot wound to the stomach was brought to Kings County Hospital and another man was shot in the stomach in Staten Island. The final shooting occurred around 7 a.m., when another man was shot in the Bronx.
