Marvel Studios President Confirms The Development Of A "Doctor Strange" Movie

While Marvel has been focusing its film efforts on household names like Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and Thor over the past few years, there are still dozens of under-the-radar characters that would seamlessly transition to the silver screen. And in a recent interview with MTV, Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige, revealed that the company is looking to expand upon its properties and begin introducing new heroes to the world, in what he is calling “Phase Three.”

“Phase Three” is the term that Feige is using for the company moving forward after the release of Avengers 2 in May of 2015, and it will include the long-rumored Ant-Man movie and, finally, a Doctor Strange adaptation. This movie has been something that fans have wanted for years (along with Black Panther), and it looks like Marvel is finally ready to commit. Here is what Feige said when asked about it:

We’re not sure when Doctor Strange would hit theaters, but with Avengers 2 and Ant-Man already lined up for 2015, we’re eyeing 2016 as a real possibility. Let’s just hope they actually follow through with it.
