It was another close holiday for new films, as Les Misérables moved back up to the number two spot in the box office with a gross of $6.3 million on Monday - only a few days after it was pushed down to the number three spot by Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. Les Mis at number two means Django Unchained, which earned $5.2 million on Monday, is back at number three.
Meanwhile, The Hobbit is still at the top spot in the box office, with $7 million earned on Monday bringing its domestic total to $228.6 million. Worldwide, the film has already grossed over $600 million.
Final holiday numbers, including today's earnings, will officially be released tomorrow.
