After starring in both Looper and The Dark Knight Rises within the last six months, Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s stock in Hollywood has never been higher. And now, according to Deadline, Marvel is looking to bring him in as the lead in its adaptation of Guardians of the Galaxy, which will hit theaters in 2014. The role that Gordon-Levitt is being looked at for is Star-Lord, the team’s leader.

The writer of the article isn’t sure whether or not Gordon-Levitt has actually been offered the role, but there is definite interest on Marvel’s part in bringing him in. If he doesn’t land the gig, the studio is still looking at Joel Edgerton, Jim Sturgess, Jack Huston, and Eddie Redmayne to play the character as well.

Guardians of the Galaxy will hit theaters on August 1, 2014.
