Good news for Hardcore Pawn's Chicago-based spinoff: According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new reality series premiered to record ratings on truTV Tuesday night, pulling in 2.1 million viewers - just slightly more than the previous record of 2 million viewers that the series premiere of Hardcore Pawn set in 2010. This makes the premiere of Hardcore Pawn: Chicago, officially, the highest-rated series opener for the network ever.

Hardcore Pawn: Chicago also pulled in 1 million viewers in the advertiser-covered 18-49 demo, impressive numbers for a reality series on a cable network. Its parent series still remains top, however: A new episode of the series which aired on Tuesday as well pulled in 2.8 million viewers.
