14 hostages who were trapped inside of the Nordstrom Rack at the Promenade at Howard Hughes Center have been freed after a terrifying standoff that began in Los Angeles last night. It originated as a hostage situation just after 10 p.m., which is around the time the boyfriend or spouse of an employee called the police. The employee had called to tell him that two men with guns had entered the store at closing time.

A man was spotted fleeing the store, but ran back inside once he saw police. Not long after, a man was seen exiting the store with a woman, but forced herself back inside with him at the sight of police. Around 3:30 a.m., SWAT officers made their way inside and freed the 14 hostages.

At least one of the hostages suffered a non-life threatening stab wound, and the LAPD confirmed that another had been sexually assaulted. The gunman are still at large.
