Amazing, but wildly impractical use of an engineering degree.

We're hoping this is actually a very carefully orchestrated misdirection on the part of Waterloo Labs in Austin, Texas.

We're as happy as the next guy that they've taken the time to create a fully functional Mario Kart race track, but you guys are actually heavy weapons engineers with a specialization in drone combat, right? The big brains over at Waterloo have actually constructed a Mario Kart track that allows the use of actual in-game power ups in real life.

The engineers have created a massive linked system of karts that can speed up, slow down, and create turbulence using items like lightning bolts, turtle shells, and mushrooms. Watch the video and take a peek at what science does in its off hours.
