We have some good news for fans waiting for the eighth season of Dexter to premiere. According to Entertainment Weekly, Showtime has set June 30 at 9 p.m. as the debut date for the new batch of episodes, which is three months earlier than we normally see for the premiere of new seasons of Dexter. The show will also now serve as a lead-in for Showtime’s upcoming series, Ray Donovan, starring Liev Schreiber.

But don’t get nervous about the early premiere for Dexter because Showtime entertainment president David Nevins told EW, “They had a lot of advance warning [that this was happening] and they know where they’re going. No less production time; a little less vacation time.”

That being said, we still don’t know whether or not this will be Dexter’s last season yet. Nevins refused to comment on it, but there have been rumors that this might be it. Once we find out any more information we will pass it along to you.
