Dakota Fanning has certainly blossomed since her days as a child actress, and as she begins to mature as a person, she is also beginning to take on more daring and dangerous roles to prove to Hollywood that she is more than just an adolescent star. Now Deadline is reporting that Fanning has signed on to play Beverly Aadland in the upcoming film The Last of Robin Hood.

The movie will center on the real life relationship between screen legend, and Adventures of Robin Hood star, Errol Flynn (Kevin Kline) and Aadland, who was only 15 at the time their sexual relationship began. She stayed with Flynn for two years until his death in 1959 at the age of 50.

This is an intriguing role for the young actress, and we never would have expected Fanning to be a part of something like this as she was screaming her adorable blonde curls off in War of the Worlds. We’ll have more information on The Last of Robin Hood when it becomes available.
