Hägar the Horrible lacks the explicit political dimension of many of the great newspaper comics, but it nails the satisfaction of slapstick. There are endless ways to raid a castle, negotiate barbarian hordes, or retreat in the heat of battle, and they're all hilarious in the hands of the Browne clan.
