Apple Loses Legal Battle With Amazon Over 'App Store' Trademark

The Appstore is here to stay.

Apple's App Store isn't the only "app store" on the block, and it looks like things will stay that way. Tim Cook and co. had been suing Amazon over its own app store, which it calls the "Appstore," for infringing on their trademark, but that case was recently thrown out by a judge, Bloomberg reports.

According to court filings, the judge dismissed the case preliminarily as Apple failed to provide enough evidence to prove trademark infringement. Which means the App Store and the Appstore are just going to have to hug it out for now.
