Police have a suspect in custody in connection with Thursday night's murder of a man who was pushed in front of an oncoming train in Queens. The woman has been identified as 31-year-old Erika Menendez, and police say she was recognized by someone in Brooklyn who immediately called 911.

The New York Times says that Menendez will be charged with second degree murder as a hate crime. According to a law enforcement official, Menendez told authorities that she pushed 46-year-old Senando Sen to his death as "an act against Muslims," and referenced the September 11 attacks as a motive.
