With Instagram Gone, Twitter Cozies Up to Pinterest

Pinterest comes to your feed.

None

Instagram and Twitter may have broken up just last week, but Twitter is already on the rebound. Yesterday the social network rolled out photo filters of its own, and now it's added support for another burgeoning, photo-friendly social network: Pinterest.

Pinterest now works with Twitter Cards, the functionality that allows other sites to display previews of their content when a link is posted to Twitter. Instagram recently pulled support for Cards, causing all Instagram photos to disappear from Twitter.

The new synchrony between Pinterest and Twitter means Twitter users can now see images pinned from Pinterest directly within their feed, much in the same way Instagram photos used to work and YouTube videos still do.

While it's certainly no replacement, Twitter is signalling that it's not going to be fazed by Instagram's departure. But we're still hoping the two companies will figure out a way to work things out.
