Again, The Show managed to best MLB 2K for the second year in a row. The Vita compatibility was a nice touch, but it's the least of a series of huge improvements from previous years. All the game modes have increased in quality, but The Road To The Show became especially refined, and doesn't make the trip from the minors to the pros a White Whale conquest. Crucially, the game went back to the dual-analog control scheme, and threw in the new "pulse pitching" feature for good measure, adding another dynamic into a complex (but not over-complicated) pitching setup that makes for as good of a baseball experience as it does a baseball game. Also, they made batting less of an impossible conquest. The biggest question, though: How SCE San Diego plans on making next year's edition worth buying over this one.
