We still have no idea about the real plot of the film, or what villain Benedict Cumberbatch will be playing. But believe it or not, another longer trailer will debut for the film next week, which will perhaps give us the answers we’re looking for. Still, though, this teaser does a great job whetting our appetite for this flick.
Like we saw in J.J. Abrams’ first stab at the franchise, this isn’t your father’s Star Trek. This again looks to be pure blockbuster filmmaking that leaves the heavy tech talk in the dust in favor of high-stakes action and sex appeal. The hardcore fan still might not like it, but you can’t deny that Abrams has finally found a way to make Trek cool again.
Star Trek into Darkness will hit theaters on May 17, 2013.
