With a few hit TV shows on the air, a burgeoning blockbuster movie career in the works, and a gig as the host of the Oscars, it looks like Seth MacFarlane is slowly taking over show biz. And according to The Hollywood Reporter, MacFarlane has lined up his next film project – a Western comedy titled A Million Ways to Die in the West. MacFarlane has already written the script with Ted and Family Guy collaborator Alec Sulkin.

The plan is for MacFarlane to direct and star in the movie, which could potentially begin production in the summer. The script is said to be in the same vein as the classic comedy Blazing Saddles, and it will focus on just how terrible life really was in the 1800’s. There is no studio behind the film yet, but Media Rights Capital will be financing it. We’ll have more information on it as it becomes available.
