The topic of gun control has been getting some much deserved attention as of late due to the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings, and just about everyone has been weighing in with their opinions. British television personality and CNN host Piers Morgan has been especially vocal about his stance on the subject, and just a few days ago, called gun lobbyist Larry Pratt, who was speaking on Morgan's show, "an unbelievably stupid man."
Now, in response to his criticisms, a We The People petition to have him deported from the United States for "targeting the Second Amendment" has hit the web - and it already has over 50,000 signatures despite just launched on Friday. It reads:

It should be pointed out that Morgan is a U.S. Visa-holding resident, and could really only be deported for committing a serious crime - not for expressing his opinions (AKA, exercising the First Amendment) on his television show.
Morgan has been commenting relentlessly on the petition since it hit the web via his Twitter, with his first response - "6,600 Americans have currently signed the petition to deport me - meaning 311,993,400 clearly want me to stay. Thank you." - on Saturday. What follows is mostly him joking about it, and calling the whole thing "ridiculous."
Though it's laughable and has pretty much no chance of happening, the amount of response to the petition is actually enough to merit a response from the White House - they have previously said they may respond to anything with over 25,000 signatures. So far though, there's no comment yet, since President Obama probably has better things to do that consider kicking a guy who bust a move to The Darkness' "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" on Britain's Got Talent a few years ago out of the country.
