Redbox got it for cheap.

Netflix may want to protect its neck. A new report from BGR says Redbox's video streaming service, which was announced earlier this year, will launch with a subscription price of $6 per month. That's two dollars cheaper than what Netflix currently charges for its streaming service.

Very little about the service dubbed Redbox Instant by Verizon has been confirmed. It's been reported that Redbox Instant will have a smaller library than Netflix, but for an additional $2 per month, users will receive four credits which can be redeemed for DVD rentals at Redbox kiosks.

Redbox Instant by Verizon is rumored to launch around December 17, 2012. The streaming service will reportedly launch with an iOS, Android, and Xbox app, along with select Samsung TVs and Blu Ray players.
