Just hours after the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, CT, police in Oklahoma foiled a teen's plot to carry out another mass shooting. 18-year-old Sammie Eaglebear Chavez reportedly told friends at Bartlesville High School of his plan to lure students and classmates to the gym and then open fire. He also said he planned to detonate explosives once police arrived.

Another student overheard Chavez's plan on Thursday, and police arrested him Friday morning before he could follow through with it. A judge in Bartlesville, OK ordered that Chavez be held on $1 million bail. Authorities believe Chavez owned a Colt .45 handgun and was trying to secure explosives and high-powered firearms.

He reportedly discussed the events of the 1999 shooting at Columbine High School frequently.
