The Department of Health shut down 83-year-old pizzeria John's of Bleecker Street on Tuesday after the discovery that most of their customers were vermin. DOH closed the restaurant for a number of health violations, and though they have yet to put the specific reasons for its closing on their website, a source tells Gothamist that, with a score of 45 points, the pizzeria was closed "due to a severe vermin infestation."

Any recent diners shouldn't be too concerned about what they just consumed, because as AFITR explains, the pizza's "are cooked at 900 degrees and delivered to the table hot, and no bacteria or virus can survive that."
