The blockbuster movie season might not start until the summer for audiences, but for the people making the film, there is no off-season. The winter and spring months are getting to be more important for these studios every year because that is when they start the promotional work for these films that will either make them or break them. And in the latest piece of marketing for a summer tentpole, Marvel Studios has released a brand new picture from Iron Man 3 that, while simple, says a lot about the movie.
Courtesy of Coming Soon, we see a bruised and beaten Tony Stark looking like a defeated hero inside of his damaged Iron Man armor in the picture above. This image follows the bleak tone that we got in the film’s debut trailer a few months ago, which is a nice change of pace from the first two Iron Man movies. It looks like he is going to need more than just quips and sarcasm to survive this sequel.
Iron Man 3 will hit theaters on May 3, 2013.
