MTA Approves Fare Increase

Oh, great.

None

The Metropolitan Transit Authority decided this morning that in March, the base fare for a MetroCard will be increased to $2.50. There will be a $1 replacement fee, and a 7-day pass will cost $30. A 30-day unlimited pass will cost $112. According to Gothamist, the decision to hike fares was approved unanimously.

So next year, you can kick off spring by paying more money on the subway. Fun times.
