Subway service was interrupted on the A and C lines last night when a man died after touching the third rail at a Brooklyn subway station. The incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. yesterday, when the man was "electrocuted at the Broadway Junction A and C subway station Friday afternoon after landing on the train tracks and touching the third rail."

It's still unknown why the man was on the tracks, but the power was shut off when the man was noticed. According to NYC Subway, the third rail "requires 625 volts for operating trains." The man was removed from the train tacks by first responders.
