Court records shows that a man who attempted suicide by leaping in front of a 6 train at 23rd Street yesterday had been charged with possession of child pornography a day prior. The New York Daily News has identified the man as Shawn Klein, a hospital administrator who participated in one of the first same-sex weddings to take place on top of the Empire State Building this year.
Klein was released on bail yesterday, hours before trying to kill himself. He is reportedly "clinging to life" at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. The North Dakota native, who works at New York Presbyterian, was charged with a count of possessing a sexual performance by a child.
