According to The Wrap, Kristen Wiig is in negotiations to join the cast of director Adam McKay’s Anchorman: The Legend Continues. The site is reporting that she is being eyed to play a love interest opposite Steve Carell’s character, Brick Tamland. The script is still being written at this point, so there are no details on the role other than that.
Aside from appearing on Saturday Night Live for years, Wiig’s big screen break came when she starred in 2011’s hit comedy Bridesmaids. Since then, she has been the go-to gal for Hollywood comedies, and a role in the Anchorman sequel will only bolster her résumé.
Anchorman: The Legend Continues will hit theaters in October 2013.
