J.J. Abrams To Screen "Star Trek Into Darkness" Footage Early For A Terminal Cancer Patient

All too often, celebrities wind up in the news for all the wrong reasons, but every now and then we get a story about someone in show business that reminds us about the good these people can do with their resources if they really put their minds to it. And the most recent example of this focuses on Star Trek into Darkness director J.J. Abrams.

After the word spread about a post on Reddit that a 41-year-old terminal cancer patient named Dan wanted to see the nine-minute preview of Star Trek into Darkness before he passed away, Abrams got in contact with the man’s wife and agreed to set up a viewing of the footage. This is a post that was put on Reddit soon after by Grady Hendrix, Dan’s friend and the founder of the New York Asian Film Festival:
