Hugh Jackman Reveals More Details About "The Wolverine"

Though we haven’t seen any actual footage from The Wolverine as of yet, most of the information we have gotten on the movie has been pretty positive so far. It seems like after the success of Avengers, 20th Century Fox is doubling down on making the X-Men franchise a top player in the box office landscape again, and it all starts with Hugh Jackman’s return in The Wolverine. And when he was asked for any new details on the movie by Parade Magazine, Jackman played it pretty coy, aside from one revealing quote.

Okay, the movie takes place after X-Men: The Last Stand. My character is at his lowest. He is supposed to be able to heal himself, but he may encounter someone who has worked out a way to really hurt him. And there is a cameo from one of the past X-Men in it.

He obviously didn’t reveal which X-Man would be coming back for a cameo, but a few months ago we heard a rumor that claimed Famke Janssen would appear in the movie as Jean Grey. With The Wolverine taking place after the character’s death in The Last Stand, Jean will likely only appear in a dream or hallucination, if she does return at all.

The Wolverine will hit theaters on July 25, 2013.
