Hugh Jackman Confirmed To Return As Wolverine In "X-Men: Days Of Future Past"

The gang is all here.

None

After it was announced that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen would be joining the cast of Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, we began thinking about who else from the previous mutant movies could join the actors from X-Men: First Class for this installment. Our first choice was obviously Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine, and while he was in negotiations to appear in the movie a few weeks ago, it took until now for Singer to confirm that he will indeed be back. Check out what the director tweeted below:

I would officially like to welcome @realhughjackman to the cast of #Xmen Days of Future Past. Very excited!More to come...

X-Men: Days of Future Past is a movie dealing with time travel, so the appearance of actors from both phases of the X-Men movie franchise makes sense. This means that Jackman will appear in both 2013’s The Wolverine as well as this one. Hopefully this will erase the stain of the character’s recent string of flops.

X-Men: Days of Future Past will hit theaters on July 18, 2014.
