Homeland's Gideon Raff, and Howard Gordon are headed to FX. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network—who passed on Homeland two years ago—has picked up Raff and Gordon's latest drama series Tyrant. The series, which focuses on a modest American family who are "drawn into the workings of a turbulent Middle Eastern nation" will be executive produced by Raff, Gordon, and Six Feet Under writer/producer Craig Wright

Raff created and wrote every episode of the Israeli series that Homeland is based on, Hatufim, and created the concept for the award-winning Showtime series that was then adapted for U.S. television by Gordon and Alex Gansa

"The brilliant and wholly original concept just blew us all away," FX's executive VP of original programming, Nick Grad, said of the pickup. "It’s pretty amazing when you read a script and can instantly imagine it becoming one of the best shows on television." Like Homeland, perhaps?
