"Hell on Wheels" is Officially Renewed Again

The series has a new showrunner.

None

Everyone can relax now: According to The Hollywood Reporter, the drama surrounding Hell on Wheels is over, and AMC has officially renewed the series for a third season. As reported last month, the network had initially renewed the show for a third season following high ratings and tons of critical acclaim, but the decision was put on hold a few days later when creators Joe GaytonTony Gaton, and showrunner Joe Shiban left the series. After a month and a half of being trapped in limbo, the show officially has a new showrunner, and the Gaytons will reportedly stay on as consultants.

So, who's the new showrunner? None other than John Wirth, who has previously worked on The Cape, V, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

With things back on track, the show will return as scheduled for a 10-episode third season in late 2013.
