Good news for people who like good television. HBO recently greenlit a new pilot from Mike Judge about life and work in Silicon Valley—a community that is ripe for parody and creative exploration despite the recent failure of a certain terrible Bravo reality series.
Judge, creator of King of the Hill, Beavis and Butthead and Office Space, seems like the perfect man for the job, given his talent for capturing the subtle idiosyncrasies of American subcultures. The pilot was developed with writing partners John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky and will be directed by Judge. Here's a brief synopsis of the series via Deadline: "Silicon Valley" is set in the high tech gold rush of modern Silicon Valley, where the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success."
Now all they need is Stephen Root.
