Good news for avid mobile Facebook users! Updates have recently been released for Android and iOS devices. Digital Trends is reporting that "Facebook silently rolled out a faster iOS app, version 5.3, with one minor feature upgrade—the ability to upload photos to the album of your choice—and improvements in the overall speed of the app."
As for the Android update, Facebook engineer Frank Qixing Du discussed the update on the company's engineering blog:
"We rebuilt several of Facebook for Android's core features in native code, including news feed and Timeline, to create a faster experience whether you're opening the app, looking at photos, or interacting with friends. Now, you can comment and like a story more quickly, and photo loading is optimized to be much faster. We also built a new, automatically updated story banner to bubble up the newest stories, no matter where you are in news feed."
To top it off, photos on the Android update can now be viewed in full screen and users have the option to tag photos.
