Facebook is making some changes to your news feed come 2013. Advertisements, which are already integrated into your news feed, will be upgraded to include video ads.

According to AdAge, video ads will debut on the desktop version of the social network and eventually roll out to the mobile version. Video ads are rumored to be limited to 15 seconds, compared to the traditional 30 seconds. Facebook, however, is still contemplating whether audio will automatically play in advertisements.

It's a smart move on Facebook's part, as it opens the doors to big dollars from the TV industry. Ad agencies want more influence on the web, so why not make the world's largest social network your platform?

Facebook declined to comment on its new ad strategy. Industry executives did however hint that video ads will roll out by April 2013.
