We’ve been barraged by so many doomsday threats and end-of-the-world prophecies over the last few years that we’ve grown numb to the eventual Armageddon, but the most incessant of all of these threats is the 2012 Mayan doomsday prediction. So in preparation of what could be the end of days, the venerable Mad Magazine has placed the infamous Mayan calendar at #18 on its countdown of The 20 Dumbest People, Events, and Things of 2012.
Accompanying the entry on this list is a hilarious graphic that shows just what the Mayan calendar is really all about. You can pick this issue up on shelves on December 18, which is coincidentally a mere three days before the end of the world is supposed to take place.
