Getting a good handyman can be tedious, but one California couple went a little too far trying to find someone to repair things around their home. According to ABC7, 36-year-old Jason DeJesus and 33-year-old Chanelle Troedson were arrested in San Jose, CA on Monday for allegedly kidnapping a handyman who had worked for DeJesus' mother in the past, and forcing him to perform home repairs for them. They reportedly held him hostage for several hours.

The couple allegedly lured the handyman to their home, beat him up, then threatened to continue their assault unless he repaired things for them. He complied, and spent the next seven hours fixing their dishwasher, and a broken door. The couple then forced him to drive his van towards their relative's home so he could repair some things there, but had him stop at a Chevron on the way to pick up snacks. It was then that the handyman was able to escape and call police at a nearby residence.

The couple was found by police still in the gas station's snack aisle. They were arrested, and charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, and assault with a deadly weapon.
