The mainstream media just can't seem to get it right. Every time the news tries to report on video games, or a talk show features them, something almost invariably goes wrong and they wind up looking either completely clueless about the topic or worse, condemning the games in question with literally no basis for their argument. It's definitely a problem and one that likely won't see a solution any time soon; that would require these fine folks to either give a crap about games and stop sensationalizing them or hire game industry experts as part of their staff like they do for movies and music.

But, if you can't beat 'em you might as well laugh at 'em. The following collection of clips represent some of the dumbest examples of video games being mentioned in news and talk show segments. Laugh at the idiocy, cry at the misunderstandings, smash your face against your keyboard as a result of your unbridled rage; do whatever makes this a little less painful for you.
