Vice President Joe Biden To Appear On "Parks And Recreation" Next Week

The Happy Warrior meets Leslie Knope.

Mere days after President Barack Obama was re-elected to another term in office, Entertainment Weekly has revealed that his running mate, Vice President Joe Biden, will appear on the November 15 episode of Parks and Recreation in a short cameo. The appearance will happen right at the beginning of the episode as Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) meets Biden during a trip to the White House. It has been established during the show’s run that Knope has had a schoolgirl crush on Biden for years, so this is a dream come true for her.

The cameo was filmed in July, but the network had to keep it a secret until now because any advanced footage shown of it would have technically been a “campaign contribution” and the FEC has strict rules about air-time for candidates during races. We have no idea what the plan for the cameo would have been if Obama and Biden lost on Tuesday, but that’s obviously not a problem now. Be sure to check out a preview of the episode above.
