Online streaming gaming platform Twitch has partnered with Sony Online Entertainment to allow players to stream the games that they're playing directly to Twitch in real-time.

This weekend will see the implementation of this partnership with the addition of a Twitch button in the beta of the MMO Planetside 2. By clicking on the button, players will be able to stream their in-game Planetside 2 experience directly to Twitch, enabling fans to live broadcast in a seamless, non-disruptive fashion, creating additional content.

“At SOE we believe very strongly in providing deeper social and emergent gameplay experiences,” said John Smedley, President, Sony Online Entertainment. “With more than 21 million PlanetSide 2 minutes streamed to date, the ability for our players to broadcast their gameplay directly to Twitch will provide Twitch’s huge user base a chance to see the massive scale battles in PlanetSide 2 for themselves. We’ve gone out of our way to make the interface extremely easy to use and allow players to cast with just one-click.”

The beta testers will see the Twitch button first, and the rest of us will see it on November 20 when the game launches. What are you guys thinking? This is kind of crazy right? I can't help shake the feeling that we are one step away from The Matrix/Inception territory. Let us know what you think on Twitter.
