Despite being the butt of countless jokes and parodies, Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 still managed to pull in an impressive $30.4 million during its midnight premiere last night, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This total will make it the highest-grossing midnight debut for the franchise (beating out Breaking Dawn – Part 1’s $30.1 million gross) and could be on track for a $150 million weekend.

If those estimates pan out, Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will beat New Moon’s franchise opening weekend record of $142.8 million. The movie has already garnered the best reviews in the franchise's history, but that just means it is a bit less repulsive than the others. We’ll have the full weekend box office numbers for you by Sunday.
