Tumblr is now the ninth most-trafficked websites in the U.S, according to a study by Quantcast. It has been five years since Tumblr entered the social networking game, and as of this year the web boasts an U.S. audience of more than 61.3 million people. Tumblr received over 170 million unique visitors worldwide in the past month.
Tumblr founder and CEO David Karp wrote about Tumblr's latest accomplishment on the company's blog:
“This isn’t meant to be a brag — though you should definitely try our new Android and iOS apps if you haven’t yet — but a credit to all of your brilliant creative efforts. You guys have earned an audience bigger than the biggest TV networks, and you continue to make some of the most thought provoking, insightful, inspiring, funny, diverse, and compelling content being created today.”
