Get ready for a Family Guy movie. According to creator Seth MacFarlane himself, a plot for a possible feature-length film based on the Fox series has already been created, and now it's just a matter of "when" it will be produced.

MacFarlane revealed the news while speaking to students at UCLA this past Wednesday as part of mtvU's Stand In series about guest professors. "We do know what the Family Guy movie will be...it's just a matter of when. It’s hard to do that while you have the series going on at the same time."

He also went into the difficulties when creating a film based on an animated television show. "The Simpsons movie, I thought, was hilarious, but the one criticism I would have is that it’s a story they probably could’ve done on TV," he said. "There could’ve been an episode that had that plotline. That’s the challenge with animation. You pretty much can do any story you want, so what is the reason for the movie? We finally hit on the answer to that question, and it will be something that would be impossible to do on TV."

No actual plot details have been released yet, of course, so that means it's up to us to start speculating what "impossible to do on TV" actually means. Too raunchy for the networks? Too big for television? You decide!
