Four Rhode Island police are under investigation after making five teenage boys do push-ups on the side of the road for destroying a mailbox. A woman called police on Monday after her mailbox was damaged, and authorities soon found a vehicle full of teens that matched the description. According to Mayor Charles Lombardi, police thought a round of roadside push-ups was the most appropriate punishment.

A neighbor saw what was going on and filmed the whole ordeal. The video shows the teens doing over a dozen reps while four uniformed officers watched. Once they were finished, they were allowed to leave. North Providence Police Chief Paul Martellini says that the officers took the boys names, but did not file a police report until news outlets began seeking comments.

Martellini offered no personal opinion on the actions of the officers, but says that some people are split on whether or not it's right or wrong. But the biggest question lingering is whether or not it was professional.
