This is precisely what happens when desperation and your drug habit collide. 47-year-old Charles Shumanis III faces up to 25 years behind bars for stealing lobsters that he planned to sell to support his habit. According to authorities, Shumanis "repeatedly" stole lobsters and meat from supermarkets in Allentown, PA, and even tried to steal a car from a parking lot.
Recently, he was arrested for trying to exit a store with $350 worth of lobsters. Shumanis pleaded guilty to retail theft and robbery of a motor vehicle in September, and a judge in Lehigh County recommended that he serve time at a state prison that can help him deal with his drug and alcohol problems.
